Everything Is New Again

I don't know if I can put into words what has been happening the last few months. It seems as if I am finding myself again. It feels amazing!

I have been working tirelessly on my new album, and it is finally out of my hands and being mastered! Which means new music very soon- like within the month!! (I know, I can hardly believe it myself...) It has been a true labor of love (from the music to the artwork), and I can't wait for you guys to hear it! But I'll go into that more once it is about to be released...

Other than working on the album and doing shows nonstop... I have finally picked back up on some of my other biggest passions! I started doing makeup on some friends again- which I just love to do. I always have said that if I wasn't a singer I would be a makeup artist that is also a writer on the side. I love playing with the colors and finding new ways to decorate the same face.

Aside from makeup, I also bought a good camera again and started taking pictures. I had forgotten how much I love to take pictures! I love to find cool angles and unique lighting. I love to make an attempt at capturing the world through my eyes. My pups have been wonderful and patient models for me. And so have a few friends!

And of course all of these things have one thing in common. Creativity. Obviously that is the key to life for me. I need to create. I need to play with magic. I thrive when I am creating, but when I stop I feel dull. I feel a darkness creep in- not a depression, but a feeling of death. Like my main life source is shriveling up and dying because it isn't being used.

As superficial as it seems, there has also been an outward change happening. I cut my hair short. A lob is what they apparently call it - a long bob. Just the cut made me feel alive again. Like they cut off all the things that had been weighing me down. I am loving changing my wardrobe and style a bit, finding a little more confidence again to wear some more "fun" type outfits. I changed all my skincare to Anti-Aging instead of Anti-Acne. (Yep, I'm 31, that change probably should have happened a long while ago!)

I just feel like everything is new again. I'm not perfect, I'd love to change things about myself! But I am feeling joy and excitement now that I had lost for a bit. I am thriving in creativity. I know not everyone's best feature is creativity, but I hope you find the part of you that makes you feel alive and you get the chance to
bask in it!

  1. I 'd love it if you'd record your version of "At Last " for us. We really enjoyed seeing you (and your justifiably very proud Dad ) on "Larry's Country Diner" several years ago. You truly did justice to everything you sang that night!

I have been a Righteous Brothers fan since the first time I heard them on the radio back in the mid '60s , and you have the ability to take the spirit and feeling of their music, and blend it with the soulfulness of Etta James and other greats and make it your own. Some singers sing the words - you capture the truth of the song and translate it into feeling in the way Bobby did with " Unchained Melody" , or John Gary did with "The Impossible Dream." We'd love for you to record more like your performance of "At Last " on Larry's Country Diner - you really brought the essence of the lyrics to life, and made us feel them deep within.

You have the ability, like Willy Nelson, to reach in and touch people's hearts when you sing. Remember, he had to fight and threaten to sue Columbia to get them to realease his " Stardust " album, which they claimed would destroy his career - it became the top selling album of all time by a country artist when it was released. Believe in yourself, and your passion for song !
